Melanie is a PhD student funded by the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Social, Genetic and Environmental Determinants of Health Theme with SCAMP. Originally from the USA, she moved to the UK to complete an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Melanie has a background in epidemiology, cognitive psychology and intensive care nursing. Her research interests lie at the intersection of adolescent cognitive development in relation to the built environment, digital technology use and addressing inequalities along sex, ethnic and socio-economic lines.
Fun fact: Melanie used to teach dance in Belgium.
